           Wednesday, Oct 19th was a big day for Blue House Companies because we celebrated the opening of 191 North Pearl with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! Attendees of the Ribbon Ceremony include: Pete Tryon, owner of Blue House Companies, Ron Stein, real estate developer and Mayor Kathy Sheehan. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           191 North Pearl is an apartment building that has been in construction for months and in planning for longer. This structure will be standing in downtown Albany for decades to come while bringing over 125,000 annually in tax revenue. What started as a vacant lot is now turned into a place to call home for dozens of people and a benefit to the community overall. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The building itself is refreshing to the community. It includes private balconies in nearly all of the units, a heated garage, a dog run, and a rooftop terrace. With amenities such as these it would be hard to look past the revitalization efforts of Albany. What started as an idea is now part of a growing movement throughout the Capital Region.            Looking for something fun or relaxing to do in Albany? Check out Albany’s Washington Park, an amazing place to visit during any season!

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Washington Park offers 81 acres of nature, walking trails, and other amenities. Strolling through the park is the perfect way to relax and take your mind off things. If you're looking to have fun and hang out with friends, go on a date, or just get some general exercise, the park also offers: 10 tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, bike paths, and open spaces which can be used for bocce, volleyball, croquet and badminton. Just imagine grabbing a group of friends and going out for the day. Where else can you get that type of fun for free?! And for all the skateboarders- there is a newly constructed skate park at Washington Park as well.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Washington Park Lake is also terrific to explore and go fishing. (Swimming is prohibited). Facing the lake is the Washington Park Lakehouse, a huge tourist attraction which hosts in the summer months many theatre performances such as those performed by Playhouse. In May the park hosts the Tulip Festival with an average of 200,000 tulips throughout the park combined with the African-American tradition of Pinkster Fest. The park also hosts fundraisers throughout the year such as the American Cancer Society walkathon!             Another fun thing to do at Washington Park is to discover the history, monuments, and art that can be found throughout the park. Such as the profound King Memorial Fountain, erected in

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           1893
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            . Lots of history and meaning can be taken from this monument but briefly- the monument symbolizes the stages of life: “infancy, youth, adulthood, and old age” - read more about it (and others)

           Lastly, Washington Park is a great place for photo shoots! Nature and flowers all around and the lake nearby creates beautiful photographic sceneries. Also check out the romantic footbridge over Washington Park lake. Whether photo shoots for family, graduation, or engagements, Washington Park in Albany is simply perfect.

           Blue House Companies assisted in the exciting creation of Morris Place apartments. This project is revitalizing the community of Albany through the area's urban renewal plan. From what used to be a site considered a nuisance by the city, to the new 28 unit, multi family complex; Blue House Companies worked with the owners through the construction process and playes a role in leasing the apartments and managing the day to day workings.
